God Is Our Source
Everything You Need: Discovering Your True Source
In a world filled with uncertainty, economic shifts, and rapid technological change, where do we turn when we need answers? When sickness strikes, when finances dwindle, when relationships fracture, what becomes our go-to source for solutions?
The truth that transforms everything is this: God is our source for everything in life.
The Power of Pressing In
There's a striking scene in Luke chapter 5 where crowds pressed against Jesus just to hear the Word of God. These weren't casual listeners. They walked two to three hours through wilderness terrain, leaving their responsibilities behind, driven by one compelling realization—everything they needed could be found in His words.
They understood something we often forget: Jesus' words weren't mere advice or philosophical musings. His words carried creative power. They opened blind eyes, unstoppered deaf ears, raised the dead, and set captives free. His words were spirit and life.
Today, we hold that same power in written form. Yet how often do we press into Scripture with the same desperation those crowds demonstrated? We have immediate access to the very words of God, yet we can go days without opening our Bibles, without seeking His face, without positioning ourselves to receive from our Source.
The people in Jesus' day walked hours for a word. We have it at our fingertips.
Already Blessed
Scripture tells us we've been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. We've been given everything pertaining to life and godliness. The storehouse of heaven stands full, shelves stocked with miracles, healings, breakthroughs, and provision—yet the aisles remain empty because we're not asking.
Philippians 4:19 declares: "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Notice the key phrase: by Christ. It's all in Jesus. He is the channel through which every good thing flows. When we have a need, the answer isn't to focus obsessively on the lack. Fixating on the problem produces anxiety, fear, and worry—which in turn opens doors to physical sickness and emotional turmoil.
Instead, we must shift our focus to the truth: "My God shall supply." Not might supply. Not could supply if conditions are right. Shall supply. It's a promise, not a possibility.
Plugged Into the Power Source
Consider a room diffuser filled with essential oils. Everything needed to make the room smell wonderful is already inside the device. But without being plugged into a power source, nothing happens. The potential remains dormant.
The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in every born-again believer. That means resurrection power—the power that conquered death itself—lives inside you. Yet that power needs activation. It needs connection.
We connect to our Source through:
The Word of God - Reading, meditating, and speaking Scripture plants seeds in our hearts that produce harvests of healing, provision, and breakthrough.
Prayer - Especially praying in the Spirit, which allows the Holy Spirit to pray God's perfect will through us, building us up and releasing divine energy.
Worship and Praise - These water the seeds of God's Word in our hearts, creating the conditions for growth and manifestation.
Faith-filled declarations - Speaking what God says rather than what circumstances show.
When we stay connected to the Source through these spiritual disciplines, what's inside begins to flow out. Strength replaces weakness. Peace displaces anxiety. Hope overcomes despair.
The Seed Time and Harvest Principle
God's Word operates according to seed principles. When you receive a promise from Scripture, it's like planting a seed in the soil of your heart. That seed needs time to germinate and grow. It needs water (prayer and praise), sunshine (the presence of God), and fertilizer (continued meditation on the Word).
If you're believing for healing, you water that seed by thanking God that by His stripes you were healed—past tense. You fertilize it by worshiping Him as your Healer. You give it time to grow by standing firm in faith even when symptoms persist.
Eventually, that seed produces a harvest after its own kind. The Word concerning healing produces actual healing. The Word about provision manifests as tangible provision. This is how faith works—not as wishful thinking, but as confident expectation based on God's unchanging promises.
Making Jesus Your Source in Practical Terms
What does it look like practically to make Jesus our source?
When sickness comes, we certainly can use medicine—there's nothing wrong with a medicine cabinet stocked with helpful remedies. But before reaching for medication, we lay hands on ourselves or our loved ones, anointing with oil and praying in faith. We recognize that while medicine may manage symptoms, prayer breaks the root.
When financial pressure mounts, we resist the urge to spiral into anxiety. Instead, we speak Philippians 4:19 over our situation. We thank God that He's our provider. We look for His direction rather than scrambling in our own strength.
When relationships strain, we seek God's wisdom rather than merely human counsel. We pray for those who hurt us. We forgive as we've been forgiven.
Positioned for the Future
We're living in times of unprecedented change. Technological advancement accelerates daily. Economic systems that seemed stable can shift overnight. Jobs that existed for generations may disappear within years.
But those who make God their source don't need to fear the future. Throughout Scripture, God's people have thrived in impossible circumstances—Joseph in prison and famine, Daniel in exile, the early church under persecution. Why? Because they tapped into an economy that transcends human systems.
The God who created everything is infinitely creative. He's the ultimate innovator. And He lives inside His people, ready to give wisdom, strategy, and ideas that can position us not just to survive but to thrive.
This isn't a time for fear. It's a time for expectation. God wants to bring His people to the forefront—not for selfish gain, but to build His kingdom and reach souls.
The Invitation
The same power that delivered the woman battling addiction, that healed the person suffering with migraines, that caused multiple sclerosis to vanish from medical scans—that power is available to you right now.
God isn't holding back. The storehouse is full. The question is: Will you press in? Will you make Him your source? Will you put your faith not in circumstances, not in your own abilities, not in human systems, but in the unchanging Word of God?
Everything you need, your Father has. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and everything else will be added to you. That's not just a nice sentiment—it's a promise from the Source of all life.
The choice is yours. Stay plugged in. Keep pressing in. Your breakthrough is closer than you think.
